Functions and Objetives
As a public body, the Public Ports Agency of Andalusia has the legal status required to fulfil its function, possess property and for autonomous administration. Organically, it is part of the Department of Development and Housing, which sets the objectives and directives for the Agency, monitors its activities and supervises its efficiency.
Law 21/2007, of 18 December, on the Legal and Economic Status of the Ports of Andalusia, establishes the responsibilities of the Agency as an instrument that forms part of the Ports Administration System of Andalusia.
It also has responsibility for the transport of goods in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, in virtue of Law 5/2001, of 4 July.
In accordance with its current statutes, the detailed objectives of the Agency’s activities include:
The objectives of the entity also include planning, promotion, development and management of services to supplement those mentioned in previous sections, and supervision of the management of entities in relation with activities in the transport areas run or part-owned by PPAA.
To comply with its goals, the Public Ports Agency of Andalusia will exercise its functions, including but not limited to those listed in the following paragraphs.
